The Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship 2025 is a fully funded fellowship for Young Leaders with a passion for becoming future leaders in the clean energy/climate change space. This Fellowship aims to create a community of climate leaders from emerging and developing nations. The total Duration of the fellowship is five months. The program will begin with a one-week, in-person opening at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, from April 7-11, 2025. The Fellowship will end in Paris, France, an in-person week from September 15–19, 2025. There is no application fee to apply. The Fellowship will cover all costs including Round-trip airfare, Hotels, Transfers, and allowance in the USA and France. The Yale Climate Fellows program includes people who work in many different sectors, like government, business, finance, media, education, science, community groups, law, and politics.
Fellowship Dates and Schedule
- Yale Orientation Week | April 7-11, 2025:Â The Fellowship begins with a one-week in-person orientation program at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
- Remote Learning Journeys | May- July 2025:Â Climate Fellows will have online meetings with experts who know a lot about climate change and clean energy. These meetings will help them learn more and connect with other people who are interested in the same things.
- Paris Closing Week | September 15-19, 2025: The fellowship concludes with an in-person week in Paris, from September 15–19, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be from developing countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America/Caribbean.
- Applicants must be fluent in English.
- Climate Fellows must be available to fully participate in person in the USA and France.
- There is no maximum age limit. Young Leaders are encouraged to apply for the Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship.
- Applicants should be between five and 10 years into their professional careers.
