Position 1: Director of Sustainability Department

Education

  • Master’s Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management, Environmental Engineering, Development Economics, Project Management, Macro Economic Forecasting and Modelling, Environmental and Natural Resources, Economics, Business Administration, Business Leadership, Finance, Social Studies or a related field.
  • Certification in ESG or sustainability frameworks is a plus.

Previous Work Experience

  • A minimum of ten years of experience in sustainability and sustainability related jobs is required.
  • Preferably:
    • Proven experience in project or program management and policy-driven work across a wide spectrum of sustainable development issues is essential.
    • Hands-on experience in implementing, monitoring, or evaluating sustainable development initiatives is required.
    • Expertise in research and analysis, monitoring and reporting, technical assistance, capacity building, or advisory services related to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a must.
    • Experience supporting intergovernmental bodies in the field of sustainable development is an advantage.
    • Experience in organizing and delivering capacity-building activities and training programs is highly desirable.
    • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and in leading cross-functional teams is required.

Required Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of key ESG frameworks such as GRI, TCFD, and SASB.
  • Strong understanding of sustainable finance products, including green finance, ESG-linked loans, and social impact investments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ESG regulatory frameworks, such as Basel III, IFRS, and the UN SDGs, with a strong focus on compliance standards.
  • Proficient in analyzing sustainability data to drive improvements in ESG performance.
  • Extensive experience in developing detailed ESG reports that adhere to international reporting standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead sustainability initiatives and manage cross-functional projects effectively.
  • Strong capability to engage and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, including NGOs, regulatory bodies, and investors.

Education

Previous Work Experience

  • Proficient in preparing and presenting ESG risk and compliance reports to senior management, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders, ensuring clear and concise communication of complex issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing ESG risk and compliance projects, from strategy development to execution, ensuring projects are completed on time and in alignment with business objectives.
  • Skilled in identifying ESG-related challenges and providing innovative, practical solutions to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in assessing risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and preparing accurate, comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to stay updated on evolving ESG risks, regulatory developments, and emerging sustainability trends, ensuring the bank remains agile and compliant in a fast-changing environment.
