In the frame of SMARTFARM project – A data and digital technology driven farm and farm management solution for climate resilience, Cropin Technology LTD is issuing a job position as Smart Farm project coordinator: In-country Second to Cropin
Contract duration
- A 12-month duration contract and competitive salary are offered.
About You
Requirements
- University degree, bachelor, master or above in agricultural engineering or similar areas
- Proficiency in English and communication skills. Knowledge of local languages (e.g. Amharic, Oromia, etc.) is a plus
- Experience with Ethiopia Min Agri projects, especially PACT, relevant offices, activities and overall eco-system
- Knowledge of farming environments, farming practices and, generally, local culture in rural areas
Tasks
- To be Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for day-to-day interactions between Cropin and Ethiopia MinAgri, including PACT representatives and IFAD staff members
- Dealing with day-to-day Smart Farm project tasks as requested
- Learn Cropin Grow platform and Cropin intelligence tools
- Train agricultural leaders in Cropin Grow platform
- Farmer onboarding
Skills
- The ideal candidate, woman or man, will operate in Ethiopia but will need to work in an international environment. So the following applies:
- Relevant experience working in Ethiopia, specifically with the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) and other relevant ministries
- Understanding of Ethiopian agricultural policy and demonstrated experience in managing or coordinating agricultural or rural development projects, ideally in collaboration with government agencies, international organizations, or development partners
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential for effectively engaging with government officials, development partners, and community stakeholders
- Coordination and organization skills are also required. Out of Cropin international teams, she/he will need to communicate in clear and understandable way also to village farmers, leader farmers, senior agronomists, local officers as well as Min Agri staff members. Digital data management and processing in agriculture can be also a significant plus in her/his skill setting.
