I. Job Summary
The water, sanitation and hygiene Officer supports the development and preparation of the WASH programs and will implement the water, sanitation and hygiene project activities. The officer is responsible mainly to implement the WASH activities.
II. Duties and Responsibilities
· Understand and work for the organization vision, mission and values.
· Provide technical advice to WASH coordinator on all water, sanitation and hygiene issues;
· Implement water, sanitation and hygiene works.
· Provide technical support to key stakeholders, as needed and appropriate;
· Provide monthly, quarterly, biannually and annually reports to WASH coordinator.
· Meet project goals, objectives, outputs and requirements
· Promote positive team environment between staff;
· Support the operations and project teams to ensure the efficient and proper use of materials, finance and equipment’s.
· Regularly conducts project site visits evaluate the progress and quality of the work;
· In collaboration with local government officials, facilitates WASH activities and community mobilization;
· Prepare and submit project reports upon completion of the project.
· Oversees the repair and maintenance of any substandard water schemes.
· Perform regular on-site supervision of WASH activities (both new activities and maintenance)
· Meet deadline to accomplish assigned works on due date and additional activities which is given by district WASH coordinator or program manager.
Requirements
· Academic Qualification
Bachelor Degree in water supply and environmental engineering, Civil engineering, construction management or related field;
· Work Experience
5 years for BSc, and 10 years for diploma relevant work experience in rural water supply, sanitation and hygiene, experience on emergency response is more advantageous.
· Special Training
Water CAD, Auto Cad, Epanet software, Computer literate, working knowledge of English

The WASH officer responsibilities include the quality as per agreed standards and
· practical experience in water well drilling works, and surface water development
· Communicate clearly, and is able to facilitate workshop;
· Has a good communication skill, both written and oral;
· Build team spirit and resolve conflict, adapt to the teams to fit in well;
· Set high standards for quality of work and coordinates group activities;
· Manage time efficiently, monitors performance against deadlines and milestones
· Computer skills for project activities reporting;
· Good ethical and moral values
· Understanding and respecting gender equalities, child protections and human right.
· Ability to analyze and solve problems quickly and effectively
The person should ensure that projects stay within budget and that required materials and equipment are available.

The water, sanitation and hygiene coordinator support the development and preparation of the WASH programs and will lead the water, sanitation and hygiene promotion programs, providing overall technical and management support to the program. The incumbent is responsible for the feasibility study, designing, planning, preparing BoQ, implementation, budget management and monitoring of WASH activities.
II. Duties and Responsibilities
· Understand and work for the organization vision, mission and values.
· Provide technical advice to the program manager on all water, sanitation and hygiene issues;
· Lead and guide water, sanitation and hygiene team and works.
· Liaise with the program staff, communities and government bodies.
· Ability to design WASH program, develop concept notes and liaises with partners on technical aspects in consultation with the WASH program manager, staff, HR and finance department.
· Manage, implement, and monitor WASH projects as per the design, plan and BoQ;
· Provide technical support to key stakeholders, as needed and appropriate;
· Provide monthly, quarterly, biannually and annually reports to the program office.
· Meet project goals, objectives, outputs and requirements
· Undertake field visit to monitor projects, as well as conduct periodic project reviews with program staff or undertake action on operational procedures that affecting project management and implementation;
· Providing and organize WASHCo training together with I1day WASH trainer and (government expert if needed);
· Represent WASH program externally in the project area as required;
· Foster, develop and maintain partnership relationships with national partners, communities and other relevant bodies to assess the effectiveness of current projects and to identify possibilities for new projects;
· Promote positive team environment between staff;
· Support the operations and projects teams to ensure the efficient and proper use of funds, supporting team in the development and management of the program and grant level budgets;
· Conduct feasibility study and prepares complete designs, plans, and cost BoQ that are to be implemented in Imagine 1 Day project areas;
· Regularly conducts on-site supervision visits as necessary to evaluate the progress and quality of the work;
· Prepares project bidding documents, project specifications, and bills of quantities for schools and other construction activities;
· In collaboration with local government officials, facilitates WASH activities and promotes community mobilization;
· Prepare and submit project report upon completion of the project.
