The HR intern will be supporting the different sections of HR department on the day-to-day tasks for the smooth accomplishment of the function. Along with, this is an opportunity for individuals interested in human resources to gain practical experience and develop essential skills in the field.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist with training and development activities, including scheduling training sessions and maintaining training records.
- Assist with documentation by compiling personal files both in hard and soft copy.
- Assist with the recruitment process by facilitating written and interview exams.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources Department.
- Facilitate different events in HR department.
- Facilitate the issuance of ID Cards.
- Assist the day-to-day activities of HR functions.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
SAFEGUARDING
· Organizing and facilitate safeguarding (Child, Adult and Harassment) awareness for functions, project staff, partners, volunteers, beneficiaries and other representatives (consultants, construction team, rental derivers, venders) for both humanitarian response and development programs.
· Facilitate/ coordinate safeguarding induction for new joiners with significant focus of humanitarian response team and conduct ongoing refreshment training for staff, partner’s focal points on child safeguarding and PSEA.
· Ensure all projects are risk assessed, develop mitigation strategies and recorded, monitor and update the tracker on regular basis in collaboration with program managers and focal points at field level.
· Identify project level contact person for beneficiaries and ensure local safeguarding reporting procedure is updated and displayed in project implementation areas
· Ensure safeguarding concept and reporting procedure is well understood by beneficiaries, staff, volunteers, partners and representatives and ensure safeguarding messages are displayed in local language at project level.
· Conduct periodical assessment/survey on understanding and practice of safeguarding by beneficiaries, staff, volunteers, partners and representatives and the effectiveness of existing reporting procedures
· Follow up on volunteer recruitment process of projects and ensure the proper documentation are kept in the data base/record in collaboration with HR and project manager
· Conduct focus group discussion with children and adult beneficiaries on safe programing and effective reporting procedure in collaboration with MEAL colligues.
· Report safeguarding incidents in DATIX system timely and coordinate with the national safeguarding team for the follow up, preliminary data collection, participation on investigation as relevant, coordinate referral mechanism as relevant
· Assess the child participation events, make sure the procedures are followed in collaboration with event organizer.
· Compile and submit monthly report on safeguarding activities to safeguarding manager at country office.
· Support local partners on training, risk assessment and other technical support as identified by the partner.
· Facilitate translation of materials, editing and disseminate messages for various groups and monitor the understanding.
· Mapping of service providers at project areas to ensure reported cases are referred to relevant stakeholders and update periodically as relevant
· Participate on the kick off meetings, other relevant workshops/trainings facilitated at field office and represent safeguarding appropriately this include regional PSEA network as available. Participate in proposal development on safeguarding aspects whenever demands.
· Organize learning forum based on the identified risks, challenges and best practices
· Attend in house safeguarding and other relevant online and face to face trainings, webinars, meetings, workshop and put other relevant training/mentoring/couching demand on development plan as appropriate.
· Take additional assignment when the demand arises by supervisor including external representation.
· Other assignment provided by line managers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Minimum of Bachelor Degree in social sciences and three years proven experience on child protection, education, social work. child safeguarding, gender and other related field.
· Experience on facilitation and coordination of training and workshops
· Experience in conducting assessment, monitoring and report writing
· Practical experience on child participation on the intervention of program activities.
· Strong computer skills, including the use of email, internet and Microsoft office
· Fluency in written and spoken English -local language is an added advantage.
Desirable

Job Description
Level 3: The responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The position holder shall be in charge of technical quality implementation of the OTP/SC program in the Woreda. She/he will mainly be responsible for the Daily/weekly/monthly implementation of the OTP/SC and outreach works in collaboration with the government most importantly the Woreda Health Office. Provide on job training for the Health Extension Workers at the health facility and to Train Community Health Volunteers and also is expected to provide a consistent and high quality technical support in relation to establishing and strengthening TSFP and overall activities to strengthening the implementation of Community Based Management of Acute Malnutrition. S/He will monitor Community Health Workers and volunteers in strengthening the community mobilization and outreach component of the program.

§ Coordinate over all SRH services (ANC, Family planning,)
§ Iron Supplementation, provision of TT,
§ distribution of clean and safe delivery,
§ Identification of high-risk mothers and facilitation of referral system to the nearest health facility, birth preparedness & complication readiness,
§ counselling on Family Planning (FP) maternal nutrition,
§ IYCF-E including, breast feeding & HIV.

§ Coordinate and facilitate implementation of mobile health and Nutrition activities, site selection and prepare weekly movement plan.
§ Provide basic health and nutrition services including community ANC, FP IMNCI/ICCM, safe motherhood, emergency services, referral, health education, EPI as per MOH Mobile health and nutrition guideline
§ Facilitate essential drugs, supplies and therapeutic products for the team and the selected health facilities
§ Facilitate training and work closely with MOH staffs at Health posts, Health centre and hospital and district level.
§ Organize daily, weekly and monthly over view and reports of ANC, FP & EPI, health education and consultations.
§ Ensure referral system and linkage between services and with the health facilities
§ Adherence to medical and nutritional treatment protocols and procedures for children and infants.
§ Provide onsite training to HEW and nurses.
§ Ensure Job aids are available in Health posts (HEW quick reference, Look up table, report format, tally sheet, Plumpnut and drug stock control balance form)
§ Receive weekly reports from HEW at weekly basis, cross check the completeness and accuracy and submit to Woreda Project officers.
§ Mentoring and assist HEW in decision of patients who are at severe risks and need to be transferred to nearby hospital
§ Participate in capacity building training, in health education sessions and ENA/BCC application
§ Follow up absentees/defaulters and keep current record of both beneficiaries and the staff (CHAs, volunteers).
§ Work any tasks assigned by the line manager and the organization.

Project Overview:The project ward name “ETH 2023 Hilton Foundation ECD & Livelihoods” is funded by Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and will be implemented from January, 2023 to December, 2025. The project will support to improving the lives and livelihoods of refugee children, families, and host communities through an integrated program focused on early childhood development and livelihoods in Ethiopia’s Gambella region. The project’s primary objective is to ensure that refugee and host community children ages 0-6 years and their caregivers in Gambella, Ethiopia, have market-driven local economic promotion interventions, and have access to quality, inclusive, integrated ECD services that enable a “double dividend” of improved child outcomes and livelihoods opportunities for caregivers. The project has the below three objectives: Objective One: Enhance access to and the quality of Early Childhood Development services for refugee and host community children ages 0-6 years, and their caregivers, in Gambella.Objective Two: Enhance access to integrated ECD and health services from conception to age 3 for refugee and host community children.Objective Three: Improve market-driven, local economic opportunities youth, with an emphasis on adolescents and caregivers through livelihood interventions that align with their aspirations.Objective Four: Conduct research and evaluation on ECD and livelihood outcomes for refugees to support evidence-based programming and advocacy and contribute to global research. |
ROLE PURPOSE:The senior Project Officer is responsible for the livelihood and economic strengthening component of the project to improve the livelihood and business expansion/diversification of refugee children, families, and host communities in the project area. S/he will also be responsible to facilitate, establish and strengthen Self Help Groups and link them with service providers to improve their livelihood options with a sustainable network. |
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY· Support field level needs assessments; on livelihood project identification, labour market and feasible business types assessment and business plan development activities· Participate in preparation of detail implementation plan in collaboration with other project team particularly in economic empowerment and nutrition sensitive agriculture activities.· Establish working relationships and partnerships with government partners, private actors and other stakeholders including RRS, and UNHCR to enhance structured opportunities for refugee and host community’s on livelihood diversification.· Provide indoor and on job training to target beneficiaries on technical and soft skill components continuously.· Provide capacity building trainings to the coalition leaders and members on different themes, cascade different ToT trainings ensure quality of economic strengthen interventions· Assist established SHGs to empower them on social and economic activities in their localities· Support planning, organization and implementation of events including workshops, awareness-raising campaigns, and experience sharing opportunities of target groups’ economic empowerment · Support and facilitate the implementation of agriculture extension, business plan development, marketing and environmental friendly activities as per the set work plan and methodologies· Ensure feedbacks are gathered from participants and beneficiaries on livelihood training manuals for further improvement and possible actions.· Establish linkages and partnerships with private sectors, MFIs, GOs, NGOs, TVETs, UNHCR, RRS etc. and maintain existing partnerships on the ground.· Provide technical backup along with close coaching and mentoring support to enable Life Skills, technical skill & other economic empowerment trainers to work project activities effectively.· Ensure & work towards improved on livelihood service delivery; and Coordinate, participate and contribute for program development and planning meetings· Produce program plans at the local level; and ensure that reports are good quality, regularly updated and timely produced and communicated to all stakeholders.· Organize periodic (Quarterly, BI-Annually) review meetings involving all relevant SHs (including project staff, support functions and partners) to assess all project management documents and evaluate if project is being implemented on time, achieving results and quality.· Represent the program and delivery of coaching and training activities under respective local stakeholders with the support from regional coordinator · Facilitate and coordinate the components of workspace development activities, like facilitate trainings, provide coaching and organized mentorship for target groups· Facilitate the active participation of and building trust with communities and other stakeholders and work closely with TVET, SHGs, private sectors, Community based organization, training institute· Communicate effectively with program staff and partners to identify needs and develop alternatives business solutions.· Produce timely and quality of periodic reports to relevant receipts· Maintain program files and related program inputs are properly documented and available at safer places.· Mainstream gender, environment, safeguarding, and other cross-cutting issues in the project· Carry out other duties as requested by the Regional Coordinator. |
