SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is an International Non-governmental organization and a member of SOS Children’s Villages International Federation. We started our humanitarian work in Ethiopia with the opening of our first Village in Mekelle, Northern part of Ethiopia in 1974. Since then, we have expanded our programs to different regions where there are significant needs for intervention and where we believe we can work in partnership with all relevant actors to bring sustainable positive outcomes for children’s and young people.
Today, we have grown significantly to meet the persistent challenges that confront Ethiopian children who have lost parental care and those that are at risk of losing their parental care. 1.Digital Fundraiser (Volunteer)

You will also play a key role in developing and designing content to engage our supporters and drive sponsorship and donations. Your role?
While working with us a Volunteer Digital Fundraiser you will be in charge of the following,
Face-to-Face Fundraising
- Communicate directly with private citizens and organizations to sign them up with an emphasis on recruiting them as long-term sponsors
- Utilize sales knowledge to identify and pursue fundraising opportunities
- Cooperate with team members to set up fundraising tables and marketing materials at canvassing locations
- Attend different exhibitions representing the organization
Digital Fundraising
- Create compelling and persuasive content for various channels, including social media, website, and promotional materials

Event Planning and Organizing

Safeguarding
- Responsible for taking part in awareness-raising sessions and capacity-building training in relation to Child Safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Misconduct Regulation to prevent and protect children, young people, programme participants and co-workers from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence, discrimination and harassment;
- Responsible for reporting any Child and Youth Safeguarding /Sexual Harassment Exploitation and Abuse and Asseset protection , allegation or incident immediately, following the reports should be made to the designated team;
- Responsible for showing their behavior and all relationships are based on the Sexual Misconduct Regulation, Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy and regulation, Code of Conduct, Anti Fraud and Anti Corruption Regulation and Good Management and Accountability Quality Standards
- Conduct themselves per the Code of Conduct, Safeguarding and Local/Country Policies and Procedures;

Project MHPSS Coordinator

Your role?
As Project MHPSS Coordinator, you will be in charge of the following:
- Lead the planning of the MHPSS Project in line with the organization’s mission, policies, strategies and available resources.
- Coordinate the implementation of MHPSS Project activities.

- Build a strong network of partner organizations.
- Build and manage a strong Project team.

- Draw-up an initial action plan based on the findings from the feasibility study, followed by annual plans with concrete Project activities based on the analysis findings and in line with the organization’s mission, policies, strategic priorities and available resources.
- Lead the implementation of MHPSS Project activities with partners according to the objectives, actions and periods outlined in the project plan and joint action plan.
- Ensure that the Project operates in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Ensure that a proper Project intake process is implemented through an initial assessment process and the systematic prioritization of cases in collaboration with key stakeholders involved in the management/coordination of the Project.
- Coordinate the development of a comprehensive Project service package according to the findings in the initial assessment. Capacity building of all participants through the implementation MHPSS planning process.
- Build a strong network of partner organizations. Where appropriate formalize these partnerships through Memorandum of Understandings (MOU).
- Participate in governmental and/or community forums dealing with MHPSS issues affecting our target group.
- Build good relations with the local media (e.g. community radio), so that MHPSS issues in general as well as the organization’s mission and objectives can be promoted on a regular basis.
- Follow professional recruitment processes for new staff (draw-up advert, screening of applications, interviews, and reference checks) in consultation with direct superior.
- Plan orientation for new project staff to ensure they have a good understanding of the organization and their role within it.
- Ensure effective performance management systems are implemented for all Project staff, including job descriptions, regular review sessions, and annual performance appraisal, in line with the required practices of the national association.
- Ensure that individual staff/volunteer training and development needs are identified and that these are addressed through staff development measures, according to priorities and available resources.

Project MHPSS Officer
We are looking for MHPSS Officer who will be responsible to plan and provide comprehensive and integrated psychological, emotional, and protection social services for the most needy and affected population. Moreover, the holder is responsible for mapping available services for children at risk and working closely with other SOS Children’s Village staff and other relevant governmental and non-governmental organizations. In general, he/she should contribute to the overall result of the improvement of affected people mental, psychological, and emotional and protection needs of minors and other people at risk of abuse

Your role?
As a Project MHPSS Officer, you will be in charge of the following:
- Assess MHPSS and protection needs and identify vulnerabilities and risks in the project implementation areas at both the health facility and community levels.
- Implement MHPSS & protection activities and provide psychological consultation on regular bases.
- Conduct regular awareness-raising sessions with target communities
- Assist in building and maintaining relationships with School community, SOS youth, SOS children and staff.
- Responsible for the day-to-day implementation of MHPSS activities in the project implementation areas
- Identify elements and changes in Child, youth & adult Psychology as the result of conflict such as playstyle changes and unhealthy emotion, grief, trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
- Provide appropriate information and level of vulnerability such as cases of Gender-Based Violence and child abuse for sectoral, holistic and need-based support
- Organize data and document the number of reported Gender-Based Violence, psychological and physical abuses, pregnancy-related complications, people with chronic illnesses and people with disabilities
- Develop methodologies and data collection techniques for assessments, indicators, program management, evaluations, and research related to MHPSS and Protection
- Support regular participatory activities with different groups of children, adolescents and youths to identify issues affecting children in their communities, and assist the teams to develop appropriate responses;
- Coordinate the designing of children, adolescents and youth and family assessments and psychometrics tools and supervise their administration.
- In cooperation with other Technical Advisors, ensure that the integrated MHPSS and protection activities implemented according to SOS CV and international standards.
- Responsible for the planning and implementation of MHPSS activities, closely monitoring, evaluating, reporting their development and flag potential issues on time.
- Supervise with humanitarian response co-workers of SOS Children’s Village and implement jointly planned activities to improve the mental health and welfare of target groups.
Child safeguarding
- Support humanitarian colleagues in the implementation of emergency programs and establishment of recovery programming
- Organize discussions on child protection risks, concerns with stakeholders, children and young persons on community members
- Strengthen the Child Safeguarding through creating awareness with the community leaders.
- Ensure adherence to SOS CV policies such as the Code of Conduct, Child Safeguarding Standards and others as well as the minimum standards of humanitarian relief

Program Accountant
Why we need you?
- We are looking for Program Accountant who will be responsible for receiving payments made to the Project, depositing cash and cheques received to bank account, effecting cash and cheque payments as per the directives thereon. Further, he/she carries out the activities of journalizing, posting of income and expenditures, debit, and credit of various accounts timely and appropriately. He/she assists in the closing of accounts and preparation of financial statements.

As Program Accountant, you will be in charge of the following:
- Reviews payment requests for accuracy, completeness, compliance, level of authorization and clarity on the invoices.
- Reviews disbursement requests for accuracy, documentation and validity; effect payment to the right vendor from the right project.
- Reviews accounts on regular basis to ensure the balances are complete and accurate;
- Recording of all program location financial transactions into the SOS financial recording, meeting all submission dates, and reporting requirements as required by the Program Accountant.
- Assures accuracy of supporting documentation for accounting records;
- Organizes and maintain Accounting filling system;
- Follows-up on status with the Social Security (Pension) and Tax departments. Including depositing the checks and routine follow-up , registering new employees at Social Security (Pension) and Tax Departments;
- Prepares payroll and arranges timely payment of salaries.
- Follow-up and control payable and receivable accounts.
- Receives original transaction documents, checks completeness and correctness and passes them to immediate supervisor.
- Takes part in inventory taking and control of assets and stock items
- Assists the Program Accountant & Finance Manager in the Implementation of the internal control system and financial procedures manual of the organization.

Project MEAL Officer

We are looking for Project MEAL Officer who will be responsible to play a leading role in the implementation of a Monitoring and Evaluation system for the effective implementation of the project as well as lead and coordinate activities pertaining to M&E at project locations. In collaboration with and active participation of program location’s MERA colleagues, he/she will also design and implement strategies that aim at building the capacity of project staffs and thereby ensure the strict incorporation of the M&E activities into their plan and its implementation. Your role?
As Project MEAL Officer, you will be in charge of the following:
- Supporting project colleagues in designing and implementing a comprehensive M&E plan for the project in line with the Results Based Management (RBM) Policy Support Document.
- Establish monitoring and evaluation systems and processes using existing DRA and implementing agency’s tools and mechanisms
- Supporting the project colleagues and partner organizations in the process of developing M&E tools
- Conduct a rapid child protection impact and needs assessment involving feedback sessions/reflection meeting with children at start-up and every 6 months to ensure activities are adapted to the current situation (i.e. restrictions on movement, security situation, etc.)
- Support the project team in planning and conducting quarter, bi-annual and annual project reviews, as well as organizing reflection and learning meetings with DRA agencies, other CSOs, international organizations and government institutions.
- Initiate and lead joint program supportive monitoring.
- Ensure the regular collection and capturing of beneficiary data into the Program Data Base (PDB).
- Design and implement strategies helpful in ensuring meaningful participation of children.
- Establish Community based complaints and feedback mechanisms at community level to contribute to analysis of feedback loops from the community and target beneficiaries.
- Conduct annual learning workshops at program location and woreda level with DRA agencies to share best practices, approaches and lessons learnt.
- Identify, document and disseminate best practices, case studies, and learning briefs.
- Establish and manage feedback-giving mechanisms.
- Perform M&E related tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor
Child safeguarding
- Support the process of ensuring that child safeguarding and child protection mainstreaming are integrated into all M&E frameworks through measurable output and outcome indicators.
- Support the process of piloting and scaling up local level beneficiary complaints’ mechanisms in relation to staff conduct, with an emphasis on the Child Protection Policy and measure to prevent children from any sort of abuse.
