Dodai Manufacturing Plc (Dodai), is a recently incorporated organization launched in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on August 01, 2023. Dodai is a fast growing organization with a mission of making e-mobility accessible to everyone in Africa through its innovative products and services. Dodai plans to provide brand new electric two wheelers by assembling them here in Addis Ababa and plans to expand to major regional cities in Ethiopia by the end of 2024. It’s thus looking to engage dynamic Ethiopian talent to ensure the achievement of its goals.
Purpose of the Position
The Financial Manager at Dodai is responsible for ensuring the financial health of the organization. S/he will lead financial management, planning and analysis, forecasting, budgeting, internal control and due diligence efforts. S/he is also responsible for financial reporting to managers as well as compliance with government regulations.
The Finance Manager is expected to conduct accurate data analysis and offer advice to senior management on strategies to maximize profits, securing long-term success for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely and accurate financial reports and interpret financial information to managers while recommending further courses of action beneficial to the organization
- Maintain the financial health of the organization
- Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plan
- Develop trends and projections for the company’s finances
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
- Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met
- Lead the preparation of the company’s annual budget preparation exercise
- Liaise with company as well as government auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained
- Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken.
- Educate managers on budget management and recommend cost efficient processes for the various departments
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance or equivalent, ACCA qualification will be a plus
- 5 – 8 years experience in a fast paced environment in a similar position
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager preferably in an international manufacturing and retail organization with international investment
- Proficient in internationally well known accounting accounting software such as Quickbooks, Xero, etc…
- Experience of continuously building IT driven practical process and playbooks at fast-paced startup or a fast growing company is a big plus
- Experience of hiring and managing 3-10 members
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills and efficiency
- Excellent sense of initiative, ability to set priorities and work under pressure with accuracy and dedication
- Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being followed
- Working knowledge of all local and relevant international statutory legislation and regulations
