 CVDA has been re-registered and licensed by the Ethiopian Ministry of Justice, Charities and Societies Agency, on November 30, 2009 as an Ethiopian Residents charity in accordance with the Charities and Societies proclamation No. 621/2009 with registration No. 0588. As per 1113/2019 proclamation also re-registered on July 30, 2019.

CVDA has permission to work at the national level however so far operates marginal parts of Benshangule Gumuz Region,  Sidama region (Hawassa, Boricha, Dara, Dara Olticho, Bilate zuria, Derara, Hawassa Zuriya, Yirgalem, , Yergachefe, Aletawondo, Wondo Genet, Chuko & Boricha )  SNNPR Gedio zone ( Dilla, Bule, and Gedeb)  Gurage zone( Gumer and Cheha)  Silite zone (MirabAzernet & Alicho)    Oromia Region West Showa Zone(Muger), Borena Zone (Hageremaireyam, Yabello & Moyale), Guji Zone( Adola, Shakiso & Borena Negele), West Arsi Zone (Shashemene, Arsi Negele, Adaba, Nensebo, Kokosa, Shala, Siraro, and Kore woredas) Afar Region;  Zone 5; Delifage, Dewe, Telalek, Hadele Ele and Sumu Robi  Zone 3; Gewane and Gelalo  and City Government of Addis Ababa; Gulele and Kolfe Keraniyo sub city.

It is member of Consortium of Reproductive Health Association (CORHA), Union of Ethiopian Women Charitable Association (UEWCA), Ethiopian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative/EEITI/, Ethiopia Civil Society Coalition for Scaling up Nutrition/ECSC-SUN/ and Afar Region Health Partner Forum.

CVDA’s mission is to enhance socioeconomic development in health, education, agriculture, environment, livelihood, and WaSH, humanitarian responses, community-based peace-building, and good governance through holistic approaches and working with the community to contribute towards sustainable development and an improved standard of living in Ethiopia.

OVERALL GOAL

CVDA’s goal is to contribute to poverty alleviation through community-based approaches by implementing programs for development, good governance, and humanitarian responses in different regions of the country.

PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES

Main duty and Responsibility

  • Community Nutrition Officer  will have the following duty and responsibility but not limted to listed below:
  • Facilitate planned SBC and Community engagement trainings in target kebele and Woredas.
  • Disseminate and report SBC materials.
  • Support with pretesting of SBC materials
  • Facilitate the nutrition catchment-based mentorship assessments at PHCU level.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary nutrition commodities and supplies (VAS, IFA Deworming and so on ) at each respective woredas and facilities.
  • Facilitate in the Food Nutrition assessments and surveys in target woredas and kebele
  • Conduct participatory exercise to develop action plans to address multisectoral coordination gaps in target woredas.
  • Provide logistical and other support for woreda-level advocacy meetings on establishment of FN structure and manpower in food and nutrition strategy (FNS) implementing sectors at Woreda and Kebele levels
  • Facilitate the overall multisectoral coordination related activities of in the target Woreda.
  • Facilitate compilation and sharing of monthly and quarterly reporting format at all levels,
  • Work with Community Kebele and Woreda level stakeholder and LIP MEL/Nutrition Coordinator to document community, facility and woreda level activities and report according to standard procedure
  • Document best practices, minutes of performance review meetings and JSS and share the findings to zonal coordinators and regional managers.
  • Facilitate LME activities of the project including data collection, analysis and reporting of data, support all assessments designed in different woredas, Coordinate and conduct DQAs at the woreda level and health facilities, HMIS and eCHIS related training in the target Woreda.
  • Facilitate GYSI Activities including mapping and collaborating youth networks.
  • Ensure the Implementation of Community Nutrition GYSI integration strategy.
  •  Represent community Nutrition at Regional, Zonal and Woreda forums.
  •  Provide need based technical assistance to woreda health offices.
  •  Document and update the woreda profile.

Reports to: Project Coordinator

Duty Station: in woreda centers of Lume, Gimbicho, Adha, Dugda, Adami Tulu, Arsi Negele, Shala and Siraro woredas

Duration of employment: One year possibility of extension based on performance and availability of fund. 

Job Requirements

Qualification: 

  • BSc Health Officer and related studies

Experience: 

  • A minimum of 3 years in Health, Nutrition, and related projects.

Skills Required

  •  Experience in Community Nutrition
  •  Training certification in attending Health and nutrition.
  •  Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources.
  • Knowledge of project areas and Oromifaa Language is Mandatory

Desirable

  • Knowledge and understanding of Community Nutrition
  • Experience of facilitating community mobilization, coordination and conversations
  • Motor bike driving license. 

Senior Admin and Finance Officer

OVERALL GOAL

Main duty and Responsibility

  • Senior Admin and Finance Officer  will have the following duty and responsibility but not limted to listed below:
  • She/He will directly manage Finace and administration activity of the project in consultation with Admin and finance Head and other CVDA staffs
  • She/He will track project expenditure as per project budget, CVDA manual and donor regulation
  • Review payments made by regional cashier for appropriateness
  • Ensure all project staffs timely sign time sheet and comply to administrative regulation
  • Follow project advances timely setteled
  • Ennsure project financial transaction properly recored in peachtree
  • Ensure Financial reports submitted to CVDA head office and donor

Reports to: Admin and Finance Head

Duration of employment: one year with high possibility of extension based on performance and availability of fund. 

Job Requirements

Required qualification and experience

  • Applicant need to have MSC degree/BSC degree Accounting 4 years experience in Finance positions in similar Activity
  • Experience in USAID funded project will be preferred
  • Applicant need to have good English language skill and computer skill

Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Main duty and Responsibility

  • Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer  will have the following duty and responsibility but not limted to listed below:
  • She/He will directly manage M&E activity of the project in consultation with MEAL Manager and other CVDA staffs
  • She/He will track status of project implementation as per project AMELP and provide timely feedback to program team
  • Provide regular data verification and DQA at project sites
  • Ensure Program reports submitted to Donor and gover as per given standard
  • Provide support to woreda health office and zone health office in timely reporting of nutritional activities to RHB and FMOH

Rquired qualification and exprience

  • Applicant need to have MSC degree in Health related field or social science and minimum 4 years experience in M&E positions in similar Activity
  • Experience in Community nutrition  Activty and  USAID funded project will be advantagious
  • Applicant need to have good English lauguage skill and good report writing skill

4.Regional Project Coordinator

Main duty and Responsibility

  • Regional Project Coordinator will have the following duty and responsibility but not limted to listed below:
  • Coordinate planned SBC and Community engagement trainings.

  • Identifying and monitoring project implementation risk.

Job Requirements

Qualification:  

  • MSc/MA/BSc/BA in Health science, Nutrition, Public Health, Agricultural economics, Plant Sciences and related studies

Experience: 

  • A minimum of 3 years for MSc and MA  and 5Years for BA/BSC experience in coordinating and managing projects and out of which four years in Health and Nutrition.

Skills Required, Attitudes and Attributes:

  • Good communication and report writing skill
  • Experience in Community Nutrition
  • Training certification in attending Health and nutrition.
  • Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources.
  • Respect, accountability, excellence, adaptability, innovation, building partnership, communicating with impact, coaching, facilitating change, information monitoring, planning and organizing, leading through vision and value.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the local context and language (oromifaa Language) and experience coordinating similar project(s)
  • Knowledge and experience managing community nutrition project, coordinating similar projects.
