About the role

The Project Facilitator-Animal Welfare is responsible to improve the capacity of smallholder farmers, farmer groups (SHGs, CLAs etc.) and the agricultural extension system in their effort of improving the welfare and management of livestock in general and equines in particular and consequently support the improvement in the livelihood situation of smallholder farmers in the assigned districts.

Job Requirements

About you

MSc or BSc in Animal science, Animal Husbandry, Animal Breeding, Animal Production & Rangeland Management, or any animal related fields; four years (4) for MSc and five (5) years for BSc of relevant work experience in the area of animal welfare and management particularly on equine welfare; experience of project monitoring at field level and quality report writing; experience of project monitoring and reviewing; desirable; prior experience with NGOs working in the area agricultural extension, community development and other food security related issues with smallholder farmers and project management in the area’s equine welfare & management

About the role

The Project Facilitator-Agronomy is responsible to lead, guide and take the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of agricultural related works of Ripple Effect Ethiopia projects in West shoa Zone for an improved livelihood of project target communities. This will be through implementation of agricultural activities outlined in the project document, overseeing, managing and supporting technical teams on the ground, conducting training and capacity building for staff and farmers, day to day activity implementation including assessment. He/she should focus on effective engagement with relevant NGOs, and government bodies.

Job Requirements

About you

MSc or BSc in agriculture related field including Plant science, Horticulture, Crop protection, Agronomy or any other relevant qualifications with minimum of 4 years for MSc and 5 years for BSc experience in agriculture and Community-based development; experience in directing and implementing agriculture programs in the context of rural development preferably on NGO projects; experience of living and working under difficult and challenging environments; experience on monitoring and evaluation of community development projects in a rural setting; ability to design and implement capacity building plans for staff and partners; strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to analyse agriculture information, evaluate options, and plan strategically; report writing and timely information sharing; experience in development of quality proposals to donors and submitting on time; desirable; prior experience with NGOs working in the area agricultural extension, community development and other food security related issues with smallholder farmers and project management in the area’s equine welfare & management
