Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting huma0ne and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Background

Under the overall supervision of the Supply Chain Officer and direct supervision of the Supply Chain Associate the Supply Chain Intern will assist in recording IOM assets and support in asset labeling and scanning.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

1.     Record relevant asset information in the ERP system as soon as items are received. Support in asset labelling, and scanning.

2.     Prepare, receive, record and file asset forms (assignment, return, transfer, lost, damage) in coordination with ICT unit.

3.     Regularly follow up, report and manage mission assets’ list (organization’s asset and beneficiary assets).

4.     Closely manage mission assets and prepare regular reports.

5.     Support in facilitating disposal of assets and other obsolete items as needed.

6.     Conduct yearly assets stocktake in Addis Ababa and sub-offices.

7.       Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Management, Finance, Economics or a related field from an accredited academic institution.

Experience

·       Fresh graduate (within one year of graduation)

·       Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and knowledge of spreadsheet and data analysis.

·       Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions and within a team of colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.

·       Analytical, communication, interpersonal and advocacy skills; and

·       Good knowledge of computer management and applications

Skills

•      Knowledge of financial rules and regulations regarding assets stocktaking procedures.

Languages

·       Thorough knowledge of spoken and written English

·       Knowledge of other local languages is an advantage.
