The Forests4Future (F4F) project is part of a global project to support the implementation of the AFR100 commitments of Ethiopia, Madagascar, Togo, Cameroon, Benin and Ivory-cost.
The F4F Ethiopia project aims to rehabilitate the ecological and productive functions of degraded terrestrial ecosystems towards landscapes and forests, sustainable wood production, sustainable agriculture, mixed agroforestry systems and the rehabilitation of pastures and wetlands. It strengthens the resilience of entire landscapes and improves the well-being of populations.
The internship assignment is to give assistant in the operational area with particular emphasis on support in the school FLR engagement, and data acquisition (socio- economic and biophysical) and proper documentation.
The tasks of the internship
Support the School FLR Engagement
- Support the project technical team and the school community in the planning, implementation, and monitoring.
- Carry out tasks as per the plan under the supervision of the technical team in charge.
- Make proper documentation and report to the technical team.
Support in data collection and documentation
- Assist the development of data and information collection templates and make Amharic translations whenever needed.
- Collect recurrent project data as per agreed template and make a proper document.
- Support the partner in collecting georeferenced data and compiling then a GIS platform
Support the team in event organization, facilitation and coordination
- Support in taking attendances and discussion minutes during trainings and events.
- Support the evaluation of trainings by the training participants.
- Support in some logistics arrangement as per the need from the technical and Admin & finance team.
- Support in availing and arranging training materials.
- Communication and facilitate with partners and service providers.
Support bridging communication
- Support in Amharic translations of verbal communication during events whenever needed.
- Take over responsibilities of the team in Arbaminch during their absence.
- Support the team with drafting communication products.
To work with the Programme according to needs and interests
- To support the technical team in any other project assignment as per need.
- To contribute for the overall success of the project.

Required qualifications, competencies, and experience.
Qualifications
- In order to qualify for an internship, applicants must be currently enrolled at a college university and be on their final year or have graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a bachelor’s or master’s degree at the time of application.
- The candidate must have at least a bachelor in Forestry; Natural resource management, Agriculture or Rural Development with good knowledge and skill of GIS
Other knowledge, additional competencies
- Previous involvement in school clubs or experience in working with schools is an asset.
- Very good Amharic and English language skill verbal and written.
- Interest in forest landscape restoration.
- Dedication to work in development cooperation.
- Stress tolerant and open minded
