Job Description
Purpose of the Position:
Responsible for the health of the financial accounts and execution of key financial controls
Key Accountabilities
Financial reporting, internal controls and business planning
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
- Managing financial transactions and ensuring compliance to financial policies, procedures, practices and regulations
- Reviewing and overseeing financial reporting and variance commentary.
- Analyzing financial data.
- Monitoring internal controls.
- Participating in budgeting processes and developing plans for financial growth.
- Streamlining accounting functions and operations.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of working capital balances in the accounts (AR, AP and Stock), and ensure physical stock counts agree to the financial records of the business
- Review reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items
- Ensure controls around and safeguarding of fixed assets
- Coordinating annual statutory audit processes.
- Ensure Tax and Financial Regulatory Compliance
People Management
- Develop a high performing finance team by embedding formal performance development and informal coaching.
- Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between finance team members.
- Determine and analyze development needs for the finance team and ensure that identified training requirements are budgeted for and executed.
- Resolve grievances between finance team members
- Address poor performance of any finance team member through the formal Performance Improvement program (PIP) and ensure that continued poor performance is appropriately dealt with.
- Motivate team members and ensure that their efforts are recognized.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
The incumbent is required to have the following qualifications and experience level:
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Minimum 8 years of experience (Accounting, Finance or Auditing);
- In-depth knowledge of and working experience in relevant corporation taxes
- Experience managing and dealing with people
- Statutory understanding (Companies Act and Tax)
- Strong financial and accounting knowledge
- Financial analysis experience
- Management capabilities
- Conflict resolution experience
- Strong negotiator

Construction Site Accountant
Job Description
Position Overview/Scope of role:
The position holder is responsible posting journal entries, updating financial statements, maintaining accounts receivable and accounts payable, prepare payroll and related taxes, preparing financial reports performed under the supervision of financial controller and support finance team on day-to-day operational needs.
Top Roles and Responsibilities:
- To ensure the correct procedures are followed when requesting a petty cash facility and administering other activities.
- Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all constriction site transactions are recorded
- Updating accounts payable and perform reconciliations
- Preparation of daily/Weekly cash collections, payments and balances report.
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
- Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
- Assist Financial controller in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
- Responsible for complete adherence of all the relevant policies in a compliant manner.
- Assist with other accounting projects and undertakes other duties as directed.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Degree in accounting.
- 2-4 years’ experience
- Similar role experience is an added advantage
